Join us for events & workshops

While we are just starting our journey, we envision a future filled with engaging events and hands-on workshops. Discover our aspirations for live events, farmers' markets, vendor shows, and online sessions designed to share the joy of preserving.

Igniting a passion for preserving... but make it your own.

We hope to inspire you to embrace the traditions of our grandmothers and their mothers before them...But with your own twist on it. With a blend of the "old ways" and new tools. Can you imagine what great-great grandma would have came up with if she had the internet back then? Or Amazon? I know my great grandma never thought about ordering banana trees or pineapple bushes in South Dakota. (That's a different story for a later time) In the future...we would love to be able to provide some workshops or live events that aim to bring the timeless art of preserving into the modern world, ensuring it thrives beyond the convenience of pre-packaged foods. But until then, feel free to shoot us a text or email with any questions. We might not have all the answers but we can figure it out together!

Beyond the conventional: our unique approach

Our events will showcase how our "use every part" philosophy transforms everyday ingredients into extraordinary creations. We believe in showing how to create delicious, wholesome foods without excess sugar and preservatives, combining ancestral wisdom with modern ease. (ok...that MIGHT be a bit of an exaggeration...a lot of stuff DOES have quite a bit of sugar but there's ways around that too. My 12 yr old, who LOVES sugar...still gets shocked when I'm making a double batch of jelly and need 8 or 10 cups of sugar lol). I have been doing a lot of things with the "throwaway" parts of things. Watermelon rind is soooo versatile and can be used in a ton of different ways. Fruit peels can be cooked down for jellies or dehydrated and ground up to create seasonings and spices. Which is also something I have been working on. We'll talk about that on a different day. But being able to get the absolute most out of products is a big thing I've been working on and I'll continue to share my ideas with you!

Open to all passionate learners

Whether you're a seasoned foodie or someone who's never stepped foot in a kitchen, our events will be for you. We welcome anyone with even a spark of interest and a willingness to learn the rewarding skills of traditional food preparation. Anyone of any age is absolutely welcome to join in the adventure! My boys have learned to do things that I know a lot of adults out there have never done and I couldn't be more proud! (You should see how fast these kids whip out some  lefse...its almost as fast as they can eat it lol) In the time it takes to re-watch an episode of Grey's or whichever Yellowstone spinoff your watching this week...you can whip up a batch of jelly or can that leftover goulash so that you can have some ready-made, shelf stable meals for those busy days...cuz I don't know about you...but I barely have room in my freezer as it is...so shelf stable is much easier to store. So come along on this journey with us and see where it takes you!
